CAVALIER COTTAGE PERSPECTIVE 5 MONTHS AFTER OPENING

Hello from Cavalier Cottage, to my past, future, and prospective guests,

I am so happy to tell you that since opening the cottage in January of 2012, I’ve welcomed more guests than I could possibly have predicted or hoped.  It seems that Cavalier Cottage has answered a need for truly pet-friendly accommodations.  I could fill this message with stories about the wonderful four-leggeds who’ve enjoyed country walks here, not to mention their terrific two-legged companions.  I could not have imagined that I’d meet such a variety of interesting people when I opened the cottage this past winter.  To those guests, a most sincere thank-you for your support.  I hope I’ll see all of you again.  To those of you who have made reservations for your first visit or who have expressed interest in the cottage, I’d like you to know that we’ve recently added some things to make your stay more comfortable.  The cottage now has Direct TV with over a hundred channels, and there are classicboard games, jazz and classical CD’s, and a small but growing library.  We’re always upgrading and updating decor and accouterments.  One thing that has not changed is my recipe for homemade scones, which I’ll bring warm from the oven to the cottage any morning you’d like.

Ø      The website, www.cavaliercottage.com, now has an availability calendar at http://www.cavaliercottage.com/availability-calendar/ to help plan a trip.

Ø      We recently welcomed our first felines – 2 very sweet, world traveler cats named Thelma and Louise.  You can read a little more about them at:  http://www.cavaliercottage.com/thelma-and-louise-visit-cat-friendly-cavalier-cottage/

 Ø      Here’s a link to our 4-legged guest page too:   http://www.cavaliercottage.com/photo-gallery-of-cavalier-cottages-4-legged-guests/

Ø      For thrill-seekers, Zoar Outdoors (www.zoaroutdoor.com) offers Cavalier Cottage guests a 10% discount on all their action-packed activities…zipline canopy tours, whitewater rafting, kayaking and rock climbing!  They’re just 10 minutes up the Mohawk Trail from the cottage.

Ø      For hiking enthusiasts, a neighbor who is an avid and experienced hikerhas mapped out several of his favorite local trails.

Ø      For dogs who love to swim, a map featuring three wonderful river and lake areas.

As more guests have visited, many potential guests were unable to come because the dates they wanted were already booked.  Because Cavalier Cottage can only accommodate one party of guests at a time, we highly recommend that if your desired dates are available, you secure the space by submitting a deposit, in order to avoid disappointment.   The first leaf peeper reservation came in today for mid-October for a couple visiting from Australia.  So don’t wait till the last minute to book a mid-week or weekend getaway for summer, fall, or winter activities.  Time here is sublimely tranquil and peaceful.

We’re here to meet your every need and help in anyway possible to make your stay at Cavalier Cottage one you won’t forget (for all the right reasons).
